Garbage Disposal Won’t Turn On?
Garbage Disposal Won’t Turn On?
What to do, what to do?
If you have a garbage disposal that won’t turn on and there is completely no noise coming from the machine. Then you have an electrical problem
First thing to remember is to ***never, never, stick your hand down into the garbage disposal…never***
Now, we can continue. Check to see if the garbage disposal is plugged in. If it is plugged in, locate the reset button usually a popped out red button on the bottom of the mechanism. Press and hold the button for a few seconds. If the garbage disposal is still inoperable, then check the circuit breaker. If everything is in working order besides your garbage disposal, then you’ll need to replace the switch or the whole unit. Keep in mind that the average lifespan of a garbage disposal is about 12 years. So if you have one several decades old, it may be time to upgrade.
