Toilet Guide
Toilet replacement is not a very common task. However, when the time comes and you are in need of buying a new toilet here’s a Toilet Guide to help.
Toilet Guide – Design
One piece: One piece toilets are easier to clean because there are no gaps or spaces, however it may be more expensive than the two piece model.
Two piece: Two piece toilets are the most common and least expensive, and they have the most options.
Wall mount: Wall mounts are the most expensive and it adheres to the wall, making it the only toilet you can sweep underneath.
Toilet Guide – Bowl
There are two types of bowls, either round or elongated. It may be a good idea to first measure the space you have, because elongated toilets takes up more room, however the seat is larger than the round seats.
Toilet Guide – Height
There are two different toilet heights. The standard measures 15″ from the ground to the seat, whereas the “comfort height” measures 17″ from the floor to the seat, which is also the minimum disability height requirement, according to the ADA.
Toilet Guide – One or Two Flushes
There used to be only one option to flush. Nowadays, we have dual flush toilets that are more economical and efficient with two different flush options. One flush uses 1.6 gallons of water while the other uses only 0.8 gallons of water. This option makes it easy to conserve water and lower your water bill.
