Hair:  

The number one culprit that gives us so much sink and shower obstruction…Is none other then hair.  Hair is often found down the p-trap, which is the curved portion of the pipes below the sink.  Eventually, if the clog is not dealt with the hair along with the other sludge found along the walls of the pipe will create a thick plug causing very poor sink drainage.
• Soap scum: Soap scum is inevitable, not only does soap scum threaten to block up a drain, but it can create acidic chemicals that will damage the interior of the drain pipe.
• Small objects: A drain cover can be a simple, cheap preventative measure for those unintentional accidents.  These small items can really get lodged into the drain and cause major plumbing problems.
