How to Unclog a Bathroom Sink
Step #1 on How to Unclog a Bathroom Sink
Clogs in the bathroom sinks are typically due to a combination of soap, grim, and hair. Now if you have metal pipes then go ahead and pour about a gallon of boiling hot water down the drain. However, you may want to avoid doing this if you have plastic pipes (since the hot water may warp the plastic).
Step #2 on How to Unclog a Bathroom Sink
If you have plastic pipes, or if the hot water didn’t work on your metal pipes then go ahead and try using a plunger. If your sink has a hole for the overflow water make sure to cover it up with duct tape to create the suction needed to clear the obstruction. Remove the drain stopper from the sink and fill the bowl halfway with water.
Step #3 on How to Unclog a Bathroom Sink
Place the cup plunger over the sink hole and make a good seal. Then with quick sharp plunges repeat several times until the obstruction clears.
