What is Hard Water?

What is Hard Water you may ask?  Did you ever wonder what that white scum was, left in your shower or bathtub after the water has dried.  More than likely that is caused by Hard Water.  Hard Water is water with mineral deposits, typically of calcium and magnesium.  As research goes, the human body absorbs calcium in Hard Water as in any other supplement and is safe for human consumption.  So no worries there.

Hard Water is more of a nuisance depending on the amount of mineral contents found in the Hard Water (which can be tested using a home kit or calling a water company).  Hard Water can affect your laundry, causing calcification in your bathtubs or showers, overusing water appliances, and your water pipes may also become clogged with mineral deposits that may cause the reduction of water flow and in some cases pipe replacement.
